1. IPK diatas 3
IPK diatas tiga kalau di kamus aku, hukumnya wajib ‘ain. Kalau orang bilang IPK gak penting, rasain dullu ketika kamu ditolak ngelamar exchange atau kerja gara-gara IPK mu tidak memenuhi syarat. Yakin lah, keuntungan IPK diatas 3 lebih banyak dibandingkan IPK pas pasan 2.75.

2. TOEFL iTP Diatas 500

They will welcome you. Trust me.

3. Mengikuti acara Internasional
At least I got the flight ticket free.

Sekarang sudah gak zaman kalau di laptop kalian ada tulisannya “this software is not genuine”.

Sedih. Apalagi kalau mau lanjut harus bayar 1.5 jt satu tahun nya. Beruntung banget, sekarang Google Drive sediaan Unair UNLIMITED. Ini benar-benar life saver. Jadi dokumen-dokumen penting aku masukkan Googe Drive semua, seperti foto, dokumen skripsi, atau dokumen PKM. Jangan samapi gagal berprestasi hanya gara-gara data hilang! Sekarang sudah ada solusinya, manfaatkan! ;-).

9. Mengikuti Kompetisi

10. Tour Kampus A, B, dan C

Airlangga Specta 2016

I am so happy that Airlangga Specta 2016 was a huge success. I thank you all for participating in this awesome event. Probably this is not know by many people that I am the coordinator for this drama :-(. It’s okay, they probably remember Rama, Sinta, and Rahwana more than remember the people that working behind the scene. The producer (that’s me), the director, screen writer, etc. Nonetheless, we were very happy when we saw that ACC hall is full of people watching our performance, although it was very late. Thank you! Matursuwun!

Here I give you a glimpse of the performance and also my narcissistic appearance in the photographs.

A post shared by Muhammad A Manaf (@muhamanaf) on

” Oh my God, Oh my God!”

That was my reaction when I entered JX International Convection and Exhibition this afternoon. I was awed by the huge number of books in every spaces there! Once you entered, you will find children books on your left, and then fiction, non fiction, romance, literature, if you go straight ahead. If you love to cooks and doing craft, just go to your right. Beside the enormous number of books available in English, the price is definitely a winner compared to another exhibition.

This book exhibition is organized by The Big Bad Wolf Indonesia, and will take places from October 20-31th. I was so excited to hear this event happen in Surabaya, because usually it will takea place in Jakarta or Singapore or Malaysia. So, thank you for the organizers to bring this event to my city! Once I heard there will be this event, I directly register for a membership online. The advantages? more discounts and you got a chance to participate in Preview Sale today. It means, you got a hand in buying the best books available first!

The books collection is soo enormous!

I was so happy this afternoon and I didn’t realize that I spent 6 hours there, looking for books and adding my wish list chart to be bought tomorrow. You can find popular books like Hunger Games trilogy only Rp 155.000! it is so cheap! Usually you will these books around Rp 400.000-500.000 rupiah. The Maze Runner series that cost you only for Rp 160.000, the popular fantasy Percy Jackson for Rp 80.000, and many more. Actually, I want to spend more money on books, however I only have cash. The committee have some regulation that the limit for cash paying is Rp 150.000, so better prepared your credit or debit card.

To close my experience today, I will give you some tips to maximize your experience.

  1. Use public transportation to go to JX International. The parking lot is full if you went there above 4 pm. So, better use Gojek or Uber. (They have partnership for Uber, so you can input the promotional code and you will get Rp 35.000 off).
  2. Use comfortable cloth and shoes, since you will move around many times.
  3. Bring your own mineral water. I was very thirsty after 5 hours looking for books. I have to stop like 30 minutes to go upstairs and buying drink. Moreover, I need to leave my books downstairs :-(.
  4. Always prepare your credit card or debit card. They have limitations for cash. So, prepare it.
  5. For bank Mandiri user, you can use your credit card, fiesta poin, or e-cash for extra 20% discount. Wow, amazing right?
  6. If you decide to buy 30 books or more, bring your own suitcase or cardboard for saving the books.

Those are the tips from me, don’t forget mind your behaviour there! It’s a public place, respect the others and keep the book on their place. Don’t move it around if you don’t buy it.

What I learnt from ASEAN+3 Youth Cultural Forum 2016

On the first week of October I flight to Penang, Malaysia to attend the 14th ASEAN and 4th ASEAN+3 Youth Cultural Forum that held in Universiti Sains Malaysia. The delegates from Universitas Airlangga were I, Ibrahim, Yasinta, and Nuri. All of us are representative from Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (Student Club) in our university. I was chosen as a head of delegate for this program.

The ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum was initiated to appreciate and share each of the ASEAN countries’ cultures and traditions. The Forum has become AUN’s annual activity dedicated to young people who are talented in either traditional or contemporary performances.

We departed from Surabaya on Tuesday, October 4th at 12.30 am then we arrived around 4 pm local time. Without further ado, we joined the program that has been set by the committee. They have a lot of programs and everything emphasize on the culture and traditions of ASEAN. Opening ceremony, cultural booth, cultural discussion, cultural performances, heritage trail, and many activities that will strengthen the bonds between ASEAN and also ASEAN+3, which is Japan, South Korea, and China.

I learnt so many things from this event. I learnt to speak Malay, tried to have traditional dance for national performance, and also singing traditional song. I brought my violin but I rarely have a chance to play it. Imagine playing traditional song with violin? It’s so hard and I haven’t study the technique to make a cheerful sound on the violin :-(. I also learnt many things from other delegates, especially about their cultures and also mutual respect about the difference and also similarities that ASEAN have, because we share one root.

After party. Gak butuh banyak; open space, cokes, and good music. Mari berjoget bersama #AUN #ASEAN #AYCF2016

What I learnt from this activity is we mus not forget our identity. No matter advanced this civilizations are, we are Indonesia. Although I speak and write in English, I can not and must not forget about my identity, my cultural heritage that passed down by my ancestors. We must not forget, that we are INDONESIA, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Anteroseptal Myocardial Damage

Saya baru saja praktikum ECG dan beberapa kasus menunjukkan adanya anteroseptal myocardial damage. Wah, apa itu?

Apa itu?

An anteroseptal infarction is a heart problem where part of the heart muscle dies and scars due to poor blood supply. In this case, the tissue damage is centered around the anteroseptal wall, the area between the left and right ventricles. This can be dangerous for the patient, and it is necessary to receive treatment to address the cause of the tissue death and prevent additional damage.

This condition usually occurs as a result of a partial blockage along one of the branches of the left anterior descending (LAD) artery. When the whole artery is blocked, it can cause an acute myocardial infarction, where more of the heart is deprived of blood. In the case of lesser blockages, a limited infarction can occur in a more specific region, like the anteroseptal wall. A patient with an anteroseptal infarction may not get enough blood to the rest of the body and can experience pain, pressure, and discomfort in the chest.

Patients with chest pain typically receive an evaluation with an electrocardiograph machine to look at electrical activity in the heart. If something is irregular, information from the test will show the medical professional where the problem is situated. He or she uses a number of leads andelectrodes to get a complete picture of the heart. This type of infarction tends to be detectable on the first through fourth ventricular leads, and it will be readily visible to a doctor or technician reading the test and can help care providers decide how to move forward with treatment.

Sometimes, a medical professional may identify an old anteroseptal infarction. In this case, the patient experienced damage in the past but did not receive treatment for it, or did but the damage was permanent. This area of the heart muscle will not be as mobile and could contribute to irregularities in the patient’s heartbeat and circulation. Other tests will show evidence of an acute infarction, which means that damage is ongoing and the patient needs treatment to stop it.

Treatment for this problem can involve medications to stimulate the heart along with procedures to address blockages and clogged arteries. The patient may need surgery to bypass a completely blocked section of artery or a stent to allow the blood can flow freely. Treatment may also involve adjustments to the patient’s diet to prevent future problems. Activities like increasing physical activity levels or controlling blood pressure more effectively may also be recommended for prevention of another anteroseptal infarction.
